A Furry New Addition

Do you remember this post? Adding To Our Family.

Do you recognize these items? They were birthday gifts from Lucas.

What about these? More generous gifts.

Sensing a theme yet?

To die for, right?

Our puppy at 3 weeks.

It has taken seven long months but I have finally successfully begged enough talked my husband into getting a dog!

Our Brittany puppy was born on June 1 and we have to wait patiently until August 7  before we can bring him home.

Lucas holding his very first puppy (ours!) at five weeks. Oh how I wish I could bottle the light on his face!

I am bursting with excitement and a ball of nerves. It’s been a LONG time since I’ve had a pet, but we are having a lot of fun getting ready, thinking up a suitable name and prepping the house.

I owe my dear friend, Suzy an enormous THANK YOU for finding the breeder for us.

Happiness personified!

Now accepting any and all puppy/dog owning advice.

And go!

Oh GORGEOUS!! I’m so excited for you and Lucas!

I would love a dog or two. We’ll have to wait til we move into a house with a backyard though.

Owning pets is a great way to teach kids responsibility etc. And he’s at a great age for that. So YAY!

We are all very excited. Some of us (me!) more than others. Owning a dog is going to be good for all of us. Yay is right! :)

Cutie! I was kind of wondering about this when I was on Pinterest the other day :)

I have never had a dog, but one of the things my MIL did that I thought was awesome was she trained their dog to only do his business on a specific area of the yard (which was gravel packed). No poop everywhere in the yard. No dead grass. No carrying bags around on walks to clean up after the dog.

    Enjoy your new addition!

Pinterest gives me away all the time. :)

We are very excited and nervous. It has been a LONG time since I’ve had a pet. Stay tuned for updates. :)

On the days I’m low on patience, I will always have wine.

Oh, I am dying over the cuteness!! Seriously, Lucas is going to love that little guy! Brings back so many memories…Michael was 3 when we got our first family dog.

    Oh, but the waiting!!

Thanks, Sherri. We are very excited. I know it’s going to be a lot of work, but I also know it’s going to be well worth it.

I couldn’t be happier for you, my friend.
I am so looking forward to hearing all of your stories once he comes home.
And that smile on your face and in your eyes? So beautiful to see.

I can’t believe you are getting one too!! How uncanny. We can be new puppy moms together. :)

That’s some serious cute — just remember how cute the first few days were when you slip on pee ;-)

Seriously, though, enjoy the new addition. Lucas is going to love the little guy.

The best advice I can give you is to play with the dog’s paws as much as possible – get the puppy used to having his paws handled. That will make cutting nails an easy task.

That is excellent advice. Thanks, John. :)

I am not a dog person. I will never be a dog person. But Cort and Eddie are TOTAL DOG PEOPLE.

We are going to get a dog someday, aren’t we?

Take notes on all of this so you can pass it on to me some day.

Oh and may the force be with you. The pooper scooper force, that is.

My husband is SO anti-dog, but he came around (barely). You probably will too. :)

I’m most definitely NOT looking forward to the poop.

At last, you managed to convince your husband :) )) Ha ha! That made me laugh when I was with you guys! I knew he was going to give in!
In a few weeks now you will be enjoying this little fur ball, for real! He’s gorgeous! I love his cutie little face and the smile he puts on you and Lucas’ faces! I’ve never had a dog all for myself, but we always had dogs with my parents and I loved that. I don’t know if we will get one of our own, however it was great seeing Emma play with a dog for about 5 hours the other day. It was a boxer and he just let her do what she wanted :) )))
I can’t wait till you get him! xoxo

What a cute puppy! The look on Lucas’ face is just priceless!

I miss having a dog. The last time we had a puppy I was 4 so I don’t have tons of advice. But seeing my friend with her family’s new puppy, I think you need a lot of patience!
