A Birthday Bonanza

Posted on June 7, 2011 Written by Tonya

We had a super spectacular weekend celebrating Lucas’ second birthday. From a Newport Beach Harbor Duffy boat ride with his grandparents on Friday night to a fun Thomas the train party on Saturday, and then Disneyland on Monday with Mommy and Daddy, it was a birthday bonanza!

I’ll spare you all the details and instead share some favorite photos:I think a highlight for Lucas, apart from the “yummy yummy cupcakes” was meeting his two idols, Tow Mater and Lightning McQueen at California Adventure! Next to Thomas, they are his favorite characters. There was a moment during Lucas’ birthday party, when he looked around and listed everyone and everything present, including the bounce house and all the Thomas balloons and the chocolate cupcake in his hands and had a happy grin from ear to ear. As our friend, Andrew pointed out, he was clearly having a moment of gratitude.

I agree.

Our special weekend wasn’t lost on any of us.

Happy Birthday, precious boy.

What a great birthday for that special boy.

I was thinking yummy yummy cupcakes too when I saw them. Is that bad that I was thinking the same thing as a 2 year old?

What a great birthday! I can't help but look at those pictures and think that he is SO big. Can't believe our little guys are not quite babies anymore.

Awe…I love that he had a moment of gratitude at his party. Sounds like a fun birthday weekend! Now I want some yummy mummy cupcakes. I may be emailing you questions about CA Adventure. We come to Newport this summer (my parents have a timeshare at Marriott Newport Coast Villas) and I was wondering if that was good for kids. Love the boats in Newport Harbor – we did that with Lanagan last time we were there and can't wait to do it again.

What a bunch of great photos. When I took the boy to see Mater & Lightning at Disney World, he was totally freaked out. I had to hold him to get a picture. 🙂
