You Know You’re A Mom When-sDaze

Posted on June 30, 2010 Written by Tonya

You know you’re a mom when:

  • You wander the aisles of Target in order to kill an hour or so and hopefully get a couple of things marked off your grocery list in the process, not to mention, blow $100 on stuff you didn’t know you needed.
  • You would PAY for extra time, sleep and privacy.
  • Your favorite author’s latest book is sitting on your nightstand… collecting dust.
  • You wonder how on earth you are going to get through the day when every last nerve is already fried and it’s not even 8 AM yet.
  • Family and friends give you anti-stress gifts in the form of neck pillows, relaxing foot creams and gift certificates to spas from here on out.
  • You consider getting a fresh diaper, new change of clothes and socks and shoes on your tot a mini workout.
  • Your son’s smile lights up a room.

The best is yet to be.

Maddie's totally at the "fighting-diaper-changes" point, and I feel bad putting wrestling maneuvers on her to keep her hips down!

I was just going to say what Liz did! Diaper changing should be an olympic sport.

Target is the devil, and I can't stay away!!

I agree with everything on your list!

I already have to pin Alex down during diaper changes…otherwise he likes to try to place his poop covered butt on the floor.

You know, because the changing table has become too dangerous a place to change him.

Diaper changing IS a work out for sure! And don't get me started on Target….I love it so much, I blogged about it once!

    Love your list!

Fabulous list. You always nail these! Target is the devil. A wonderous devil that I visit at least once a week…which is probably why I'm broke…

Can I say? I don't miss diaper changing. We're down to a pullup for sleep…not for us, for my 4-yr-old son. Really.

I have to say that all but the last two applied to me, and I am NOT a mom, unless you count my two dogs. 🙂

Wow . . . this post just exhausted me. I think I'm actually going to go to bed now. I thought my job was tiring. Being a mom sounds like so much work, but that last statement makes it sound soo worth it.

So many times I've drop $$$ in exchange for a moment or two of sanity saving retail therapy. What is that?
And I love that your gifts are now stress relievers! So funny! I get the same stuff!

Wow, that's quite a list! I still can't get that hilarious image of you buying sleep at the grocery store out of my mind! Oh man, that's awesome.. "Excuse me sir, do u have more sleep in the back somewhere? And get i buy it in bulk?" hahahaha
