You Know You’re A Mom When-sDaze

Posted on July 28, 2010 Written by Tonya

You Know You’re a Mom When…

  • You have snacks in the form of Puffs, yogurt bites, Cheerios and teething biscuits in your car, purse, diaper bag, strollers and for some strange reason bedside table.
  • There’s no taking time off for sickness or sadness, motherhood is a full time job (but admittedly, the benefits are pretty great too).
  • You swear you are going to gather up and donate every last little toy in your house if you stub your toe on one of them one. more. time.
  • You know you have lost several socks, bottle caps, toys and burp cloths from the stroller without even realizing it.
  • As much as you love reading to your child, you don’t how many more times you can look for Spot, flip through every color of the rainbow or find out how many monkeys end up jumping off the bed.
  • You see parents in a whole new light and have a lot more respect, admiration and love for them…especially your own.

Thank you, Arizona Mama at Our Daze in the Desert for this terrific meme. If you feel like nodding along to lists by other moms just like you, check it out!

The best is yet to be.

I'm constantly amazed by the places I find yogurt melts. And true to their name, they melt.

I have froot loops and cheerios freakin' *everywhere*. My car is at the point that I would not let anyone else (besides family) ride in it because of all the food…& fear of total embarrassment at the state of my car. Altho…If I overturned in a snow bank & was stuck for several days…we probably could survive.

That's all so true! And damn I used to hate stepping on legos and hot wheels! LOL

I feel like giving away toys when Kate complains she is bored or has nothing special to do.

Ha ha!!! I found some mouldy biscuits in one of my bags not so long ago!!!! And my car is… you don't want to know.
Yep, I lost I don't know how many hats, toys and stuff from the stroller and my feet and toes have been badly treated since I have had kids… When I walk on a piece of Duplo, I can't help but %$@#…
About the Mommy job begin a 24/24, 7 day a week job, that's so true. No time off for sickness or sadness, you just have to get up and move on. I agree that it has it's benefits, even though on some days, I'd just like to stay in bed and sleep!
    xoxo

I have done toy round ups and donations twice now. So, I totally relate to that.

As for the snacks at the bedside table, mine is for the sole purpose of buying myself ten more minutes of sleep when Addyson comes into the room at 6:30 ready to start her day. It's like a toddler snooze button.

I am a huge purger… every now and again the kids will ask for something and we can't find it. Haha.

Yep, you are definitely a mom. Great list. Thanks for sharing.

I love getting rid of things! I try and make sure they're done with them, but some things I just can't wait to pass along….

Goldfish crackers were my kid's favorite portable snacks, and I would find them everywhere, and wasn't beyond eating them once in a while when I was starving!

When Lucas passes us one of those books that we've read to him a million times, let's start making up new stories! Haha! Watch me do it tomorrow to him..it will be hilarious!
