You Know You’re A Mom When-sDaze

Posted on August 4, 2010 Written by Tonya

You Know You’re a Mom when…

  • You still have to psych yourself up to change a really super nasty stinky dirty diaper.
  • Like it or not, multitasking is now second nature and an art form that is sometimes beautiful to watch.
  • You would rather just leave (a restaurant, store, friend’s house) than deal with a cranky kid…at least there is a possibility that he’ll fall asleep on the car ride home.
  • You don’t think being a stay at home mom would be that bad, if you had a personal assistant, live-in maid, trainer, driver and cook.
  • You count down the hours until your next date night or girl’s night out, just so you can burn off some steam, dress like a lady and enjoy some time off.
  • You believe that putting on a child’s shoes has got to require a college degree of some sort. Why is it so difficult?!
  • You are beyond grateful for your fellow mom friends. They are with you in the trenches every day supporting and encouraging you every step of the way and often teaching you a useful tip or trick.

Thank you, Arizona Mama at Our Daze in the Desert for this creating this terrific meme. If you feel like nodding along to lists by other moms just like you, check it out and join along in the fun.

The best is yet to be.

So with you about SAHMs needing assistants!! That would make life MUCH easier 😉

And with you on the shoes too – I swear it must be an instinct or something for them to automatically curl their toes as soon as they get anything covering them up!

Why aren't there trainers, chefs, etc. who will work for free? It's like a charity, actually – they would be giving their time to help mothers everywhere raise the next generation of leaders. I think I'm on to something here…

And yes about the shoes, and about leaving something fun rather than deal with monster kids.

    Great post!

I still do my best to try to trick my husband into changing the really nasty dirty diapers. Like pretend I didn't notice the stink lines and say something like, "Did you want to go sit with Daddy???"

Ugh, those stinky diapers..don't miss them! I agree about all of the personal assistants, and I keep waiting for them to show up! And yeah, moms can still multi-task better than any dad!

    Great list!

I always try my best to pawn off the stinky diaper duty to my husband when he is home. He's not bad about it actually.

Oh, and I am thinking I need to do a better job of having a girl's night every now and then. I never do. The cutest I get to dress, is shorts, t-shirt and flip flops. Sigh. I'm inspired to plan a girl's night in the very near future. Thanks!

Even tho I'm not a SAHM, I can definitely appreciate this. I've spent a few days at home with the kids…& it ain't easy. Even still, I only get a date with my hub once every few months. We have our quarterly date. His birthday is this weekend, so I'm about to land myself a date! 🙂
