Today I’m missing my little side kick, but I am proud to report I we survived Spring Break!
In the beginning there was worry and dread. Lots of dread and then, I made a list! I outlined each day and before I knew it I was actually excited about Lucas being on Spring Break!
The days were long, I’m not going to lie, but we had so much fun together.
There was a trip to the aquarium, a birthday party, a play date, ice cream, scooter time, a much needed hair cut, plenty of park time and we started swim lessons!
There were also at least 20 rounds of the game Cars & Trucks cards, pizza and macaroni and cheese lunches, a couple of afternoons with no naps that we filled with crayons, paint and multiple viewings of Rio. Oh, and there was one afternoon spent with a babysitter so Mommy could get her yoga on.
All in all the week went by super fast and we didn’t even get to everything on my list, but the memories of our time together and Lucas’ first Spring Break will last a lifetime.

Yay for busy spring breaks! We went to the zoo, shopping, and some other stuff during our week off of school. Back to the grind today.

We’re just done with two weeks of Spring Break and this year was not as bad as other years – I think the secret is in having a plan!

Hooray for spring break!
For the first time in a decade, Spring Break didn’t exist around here. Cort still went to work, Eddie still went to daycare, and I was home with the baby. Nothing made that week different.
And I was Ok with it. But next year? BRING IT!
I was really dreading it, but having a plan was key. We had a something fun to do everyday.

Lucas is obsessed with Cars!! Sadly, the cupcakes only looked good. He took one bite and handed it to me. I think they were store bought. Not that that matters, usually….

We stayed right at home. It was a fun week. Maybe next year we’ll go away. Or hopefully this summer!

That was not even posed, he just stopped his scootering and did that! Can you believe it? He’s a funny kid. I must have taught him that at some point.
